Horse Care

We are very serious about taking good care of your horse.  The horses receive wonderful care at Rancho Viejo.  There is an on-site grounds manager who does early morning and late night checks on all the horses.

We feed a 60/40 alfalfa-oat cube twice a day.  Stalls are cleaned and re-bed with new shavings six times a week.  Every stall has an automatic waterer. There are a lot of stall-paddock combinations, but you have to move into a stall and put yourself on the waiting list (with your trainer) to get one.  Naturally, the wait can be substantial as they are well-loved accomadations.  We do, however, have several large and small turnouts that you are welcome to use so long as you remain on the property.

Additional services, such as blanketing and routine turnout may be made for an additional fee.  These arrangments are made individually with designated people on the ranch.  Ask for details.

Services such as veterinary care, chiropractic care, shoeing, etc. can be recommended through your trainer.  However, we do recommend the following providers:

Get In-Line Chiropractic, Dr. Kendra Cohn for all of your horse’s chiropractic needs.

PJ Davis Horseshoeing, PJ Davis.
